Buy Colombian Emerald - Colombian Emerald for Sale
We are proud to present a natural emerald of Colombian origin, with an excellent, radiating green color, rich in Jardin in the upper part, cut in a step-faceted emerald cut, and accompanied by a gemological report from the Swiss Gemological Laboratory (SGL). The Report Number is G18023660, issued September 03, 2026.
Colombia is the world's leading source of emeralds, supplying approximately 70% of global production, principally from the Muzo, Chivor, and Coscuez mining districts. Emeralds from these deposits are formed in sediment-hosted hydrothermal conditions, a geological environment associated with the region's characteristic green coloration.
The stone's color is a bright medium green, with tone varying according to lighting and viewing angle. It weighs 0.86 carats and measures 6.05 x 4.88 x 3.83 mm.
Relative to its face dimensions, this emerald carries notable depth, which contributes to its body color and overall presence.
Natural Colombian emeralds contain internal features called "Jardin" (French for garden) - natural, garden-like forms of inclusions, formed during the million of years of the Emerald's crystallization. While these features confirm the stone's natural origin, their visibility to the naked eye affects value. In many emeralds, Jardin is visible to the naked eye, which reduces its clarity and market value. In the case of this exceptional Colombian emerald, its clarity is maintained, and the included Jardins cannot be seen by the naked eye, and require magnification to discern. It is a quality that distinguishes it from lesser emeralds where internal features disrupt visual appeal.
The emerald cut is the traditional cutting style for this gemstone. Its parallel step facets create broad, open planes that display the stone's interior color, and the style evolved historically to accommodate emerald's natural propensity for fissures and brittleness.
The report identifies this gemstone as 100% natural emerald, with a minor amount of oil applied. Cedarwood oil is routinely applied to natural emeralds since ancient times as a customary practice. A minor amount indicates the most desirable practical degree of such treatment.
The original SGL certificate accompanies the purchase. This beautiful gemstone is well proportioned for a ring or a pendant.
